"Digital tools bring with them an explosion of possibility for learning, especially with young children. In this session we will explore meaning-making in forms that are more relevant to the way we think and play in the real world. This session aims to help educators working with young children find connections between literacy instruction and modern day forms of communication by highlighting thinking processes. How can we infer meaning from and assess the validity of a digital text? What strategies will help us problem solve when using digital tools? How can we begin to develop skills that will support strong researchers in a digital landscape? These are all things we can and should begin exploring in the early years! Come and learn ways that I have begun building these skills into teaching and learning and play around with some apps yourselves!
If you can, please come with a device that has these apps on it: Seesaw and Musical.ly
