Levine - Creating a Digital Writing Circle in Grades 3-6

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Using digital platforms to share writing, students can comment on pieces by their peers, receive feedback, and respond to writing prompts. In this two half-day workshop series, participants will learn how to teach the skills of peer review and how to moderate an online learning community of budding writers in the classroom. Participants will also learn how to further personalize learning and develop students into entrepreneurs by using the platform to share information about upcoming writing contests, articles about writing strategies and famous writers, and opportunities to publish in anthologies and magazines.

Through this format, teachers have a unique opportunity to also develop positive digital citizenship skills through the teaching and modeling of respectful critiques and comments.
