Digital portfolios are a great way for students to showcase their learning and share their ideas and thoughts with their peers, families and really, anyone! Using Google Sites, we will look at how to create and set up the portfolios and set expectations.
We will also explore the different elements you can include within the portfolio. A few examples - students can use it to showcase the process of a scientific investigation by uploading pictures through Google Apps and explaining the process, sharing observations and predictions, etc. Students can show their summarizing and analysis skills by adding reviews of the books they are reading through out the year.
Digital portfolios in Google Sites can be shared between teachers so students have one place to showcase their learning from multiple classes. And they can be shared to anyone on the web so learning can be shared with classes from anywhere in the world.
