So often leaders rely on a mandate of "just do it" when attempting to influence change. Using positional power to influence change often leads to a lack of sustainability. Using the framework provided in the session, participants will learn how to think through planning a change initiative so that organization members are pulled by the force of change rather than forced into it by mandates. Session participants will plan change management through a model developed and practiced in the business world during the 1960s. Participants will work stepwise through a 4-variable formula, spending time to focus on dissatisfaction, vision, first steps, and resistance that influence the success of sustainable change in schools. Session facilitators will share their successes and applications of the formula and facilitate dialogue among attendees based on their experiences working with technology integration.
